Neds Atomic Dustbin
Ned's Atomic Dustbin formed in Stourbridge, UK in 1987. The name was a rip off of an episode of the Goons show that was released well before most of you were born, The Goons were a hugely funny and influential comedic act years before even I was born.
Band Members
Dan Dan the fast drumming man, Alex does one bass and sings a bit, Mat used to do the other bass but now it's Andy King instead, Rat did guitars and expletives, a position now ably filled by Martin Warlow and Jonn still just sings.
Bass player Alex Giffin cool as fuck bass lines high up the bass guitar and this was layered with other lines further down the melodic scale by Matt. Giving one of the coolest two part harmonic bass lines since Bach to all the Neds tracks. On top of this was layered guitar lines by Rat, generally they verged between fast and furious punk style chord patterns and relented into a psychedelic miasma.
One of a fad of `t-shirt` bands in the 1990s. The had well over 80 tshirt designs all of which sold far more than any of their albums. I infact still have a number of these including the notoriuos "Then you Fucked Up" design and the square variant on a red t-shirt from some gigs played one summer.
